This file intends to help you solve My Adventure without telling you
the deep secrets! I'd suggest reading only to the ********* line if
you only want some general advice. If you get *really* stumped, read
on. I have hints roughly in the order you will need them, but the
game can be played in many ways, so the order probably won't match
yours.

As the HELP message in the game indicates, your object is to get out.
There are hints you must learn (phrases and numbers) hidden around
the game that you will need to successfully exit. Write these down
when you see them -- you don't need to do that part of the puzzle
again to succeed. There are plenty of dead ends and red herrings as
well. Just check your inventory (INV).

Occasionally you will want to talk to a character or machine. Use the
sentence structure given in the examples in the HELP command.

The game is written using ADL, which is a old game development
system. It really isn't up to the task I wanted it to do. The game
would have been better with TADS I'm sure, but conversion would be a
major effort. Anyway, occasionally you will need awkwardly
constructed commands (the reason for HELP), and some obvious
commands, like "sit down" won't work, nor was I able to get them to
respond correctly. I'm sorry about that, but it shouldn't interfere
much with the game because there's alot I *was* able to do that's unusual!

***********************

The main area of the game consists of three rooms. You start in the
Comfortable Room, which has a "Secret" machine, a cabinet, and a
large sturdy trash can. Check these objects out thoroughly!

If you go to the East, you end up in the Bright Room. The elevator
appears to be dead, but just the motors for the door and vertical
motion are not working. You can still use the elevator, keeping in
mind how an elevator works using a counterbalancing weight.

Downstairs from the Bright Room is a cave that you can dig around in.
Find the Gizmo and take it down here -- it's a big help. You'll have
to do something about the box you find in order to finish the game.

To the north of the Comfortable Room lies Monty Hall (yuk yuk) where
you will find three doors on the north wall. Naturally you can only
open one door at a time. Examine the doors carefully. Hey, examine
*everything* carefully. The center door is the easiest to get
through, the right door a bit harder, and the left door can't be
solved until you find several of the clues.

East of Monty Hall is one of those narrow passageways you can't get
anything through. However there is a way to get most things on the
other side out.
